In 1999 the City Council authorized the use of CPVC pipe as an approved material for certain types of sprinkler installations.
DOB has prepared a table (below) summarizing the locations where CPVC pipe can be used. Also note that the
DOB has promulgated a Rule (29-09) which sets forth other requirements for using CPVC pipe for sprinklers (e.g. individuals installing
pipe must have certification of training from manufacturer on site, minimum cure times for solvents, etc.)
