Subject:    Emergency Plumbing Permits 	
Effective:  Immediately 	
Purpose:    To establish a procedure for the submission of emergency
            ARA'S during the heating season 	
Superseded: PPN # 9/98 dated November 5, 1998 	
Specifics:  In order to facilitate processing for emergency repairs to
            heating systems during the winter seasons the Department of
            Buildings will accept ARA'S by messenger service or express
            overnight mail immediate processing.  This method of filing
            will be in effect from October 1 to March 31.
            Applications should be mailed to or dropped off at:
              Department of Buildings
              ARA Division
              280 Broadway
              New York, NY 10007
            (Envelopes should be marked "EMERGENCY HEAT REPAIRS")
            Applications should include:   
              1. "EMERGENCY HEAT REPAIR" in the comments section.
              2. A self-addressed stamped envelope.
              3. A certified check or money order made payable to the New York City
                 Department of Buildings for the required fees.
