Contractors are now able to easily obtain copies of the Department of Buildings (DOB)approved Schedule B, plumbing inspection details (i.e. results of inspections), and much more. Simply go to the DOB’s website nyc.gov/buildings and click on “Buildings Information System”(BIS). You can access the DOB database by address (which will list all jobs filed for the building), or enter the job number directly. Once in the specific job, you get the actual Schedule B (with floor & fixture count) that DOB has entered into their system as official. Under “plumbing inspections” you can obtain details on your inspection (i.e. was it entered, the results, is it signed off).

We requested this information years ago and it was promised to be on the internet at the end of 2000. We are happy to report that Commissioner Lancaster and her staff have made the promises of the past, the reality of the present.
